Aziz Ansari is a bright American actor, inventive author, producer, and captivating comedian, recognized as Tom Haverford for his role on the NBC series Parks and Recreation. He received critical acclaim as the author of the Netflix series Master of None, for which he won many awards, including a Golden Globe and two Emmys. The Golden Globe was the first award received by an Asian American actor for a TV show. In 2010, Aziz released his first comedy special, Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening.
Ansari was born on 23rd February 1983, in South Carolina. He attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics along with Marlboro Academy. He graduated in 2004 from New York University’s Stern School of Business. In his early career, Aziz often performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York and some weekly stand up shows around the city. Rolling Stone included him in their annual “Hot List” in 2015, and at HBO’s 2006 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado, he won the Jury Award for “Best Standup.”
Aziz appeared as an eccentric fruit vendor on the HBO series Flight of the Conchords; he additionally incorporated to a continual role as Darryl on the animated comedy series Bob’s Burgers. In 2017, he was given the massive honor of hosting the longest running show, Saturday Night Live. Aziz made many films, including 30 Minutes or Less, Get Him to the Greek, and I Love You, Man. He has an extensive touring comedy road show including tours with the Comedians of Comedy and Flight of the Conchords.
