Danica Patrick is an American professional racing driver. She is considered one of the most victorious women in history in the sport of open-wheel racing. She also took the name of Rookie of Year in NASCAR Nationwide Series in Indianapolis in 2005. She is the only woman who received a medal in the IndyCar Series in 2008.
In 1982, Danica was born in Wisconsin. She was the daughter of working-class parents, owning a small coffee shop in her hometown. Her father encouraged her at a young age to get into racing. Her mother was also very supportive when she began karting. Danica participated in a number of racing events from the IndyCar Series. In 2010-2011 she appeared in IndyCar World Championship at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In 2012-14 she switched to Spirit Cup Series. She qualified for Indianapolis 500 and Daytona 500. In 2017 she decided to retire from the sport.
Danica continues to make various media appearances and is featured regularly in the press including Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes, Sports Illustrated, etc.. She gained so much popularity that she was named one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World by Time Magazine and became an exemplary model for young girls all over the planet.
